This month’s NWC exclusive DVD lesson is all about leadership on the trail – becoming a good leader for your horse and stepping in to give him confidence when he’s unsure of a situation. Clinton travels to Paige, Texas to help member Jessica Jaquette work with her gelding. Although Jessica felt her horse was working well in the arena, she was having major problems with him spooking on the trail. No amount of groundwork was making the situation better, which was understandably frustrating for Jessica. So she asked for help, and Clinton spent a day working with her and her gelding on the trail. While Clinton works with the horse and addresses his spooking issues, the thrust of the lesson is about helping Jessica become a confident leader her horse can trust.
