Meet Method Ambassador Cale Young

Method Ambassador Cale Young was raised just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, where horses were a part of his everyday life. His mother was a mounted police officer, and she encouraged Cale’s interest in horses. He grew up trail riding and went on to explore other disciplines, including hunter/jumpers, eventing and showing Paints in halter classes at the state and national levels.

When Cale met his wife Meggan, a fellow equestrian, she introduced him to Downunder Horsemanship and the Method. “The Method works. It’s that simple. I use it because it’s easy to learn, and once you understand the information, it’s just as easy to apply to your horse and get results,” Cale says.

After getting married, Cale and Meggan relocated to North Carolina so that Cale could pursue his interest in eventing. At the same time, the ambitious horseman began teaching lessons and training horses for the public. “I enjoy working with horses and watching them progress, but it’s the people I love to help the most,” Cale says. “When you can help someone understand how to work with their horse it’s a rewarding feeling.”

When Cale decided to seriously consider a career as a professional horseman and began looking into the Clinician Academy, it came as no surprise to those closest to him. “Learning the Fundamentals and doing one clinic at the ranch put me so far ahead of everyone else I knew, as far as getting a horse well trained. I knew that if I could get the results I was getting off just the kit and attending one clinic, the Academy would be invaluable to me,” Cale says.

As a Method Ambassador, Cale is passionate about educating horsemen and helping them develop better partnerships with their horses and hopes to take the Method into the eventing world. “I believe in the purpose of Downunder Horsemanship and am honored to be a part of Clinton’s team,” Cale says. “I love teaching people and am passionate about sharing the Method with horse owners.”
