May No Worries Club Exclusive All About Grooming

0505_01

This month’s lesson is all about grooming and building your horse’s confidence about standing quietly while you work around him. Regularly grooming your horse isn’t just about making him look good – it’s an important factor in ensuring he is healthy and happy.

Throughout the training session, Clinton works with Zorro, a yearling at the time who had little handling and no experience with the Method. From basic brushing to applying fly spray to bathing for the first time, Clinton works on a variety of lessons with the colt.

Zorro’s limited handling and inexperience helps to demonstrate how to best work with horses who lack confidence and use the reactive sides of their brains. You’re sure to pick up helpful tips to make working around your horse and grooming him a more pleasant experience for you both.
