Happy Birthday, Mindy!

Mindy, Clinton’s Australian Quarter Horse mare who helped the trainer build Downunder Horsemanship, celebrated her birthday on Sunday. With the help of his parents, Clinton purchased the liver chestnut mare in 1993 when she was just a weanling. The pair went on to earn third-place honors at the 1997 Australia National Reining Horse Association Futurity.

When Clinton moved to America to establish Downunder Horsemanship, Mindy stayed back in Australia, being looked after by Clinton’s parents. The pair was reunited when Clinton had saved up enough money to fly her over to the States. The personable, eager-to-please mare was integral in helping Clinton build the Downunder Horsemanship brand.

Clinton retired Mindy in 2010 at the Las Vegas Walkabout Tour. Their last performance together is an all-time favorite memory for a lot of Downunder Horsemanship fans. You can watch the moving performance on the DUHorseman YouTube channel.

Now days, Mindy enjoys a life of leisure, turned out in a grassy pasture with her longtime pal, China. The mares routinely get loved on by Clinton and the ranch team.
