Find It on the No Worries Club: Troubleshoot Lead Changes

NWCfind

“Lead changes are a subject that got me upside down and frustrated as a young horseman. If you’re having trouble, believe me, you’re not alone. I’ve been there!” Clinton says. According to the clinician, five of the top reasons why teaching your horse lead changes may not be going well include:

  1. Your foundation isn’t good enough.
  2. You’re not exaggerating your cues enough.
  3. You’re being too nitpicky.
  4. You’re drilling on it.
  5. You’re not driving your horse through the change.

Read more of what Clinton has to say about troubleshooting lead changes in the article, “Five Reasons Why Your Lead Changes are Going Wrong,” in the summer 2017 edition of the No Worries Journal. The article is available to read on the No Worries Club website or the Downunder Horsemanship app.

A complete library of our quarterly No Worries Journals is available for viewing and downloading on the No Worries Club website and the Downunder Horsemanship app. If you’re not a club member, learn more about the many benefits of being a club member and join our community on our website.
