We’re Ready to Inspire in Lake St. Louis

The final countdown is on for the first stop of the 2024 Walkabout Tour presented by Ritchie Industries. The tour will roll into Lake St. Louis, Missouri’s National Equestrian Center this weekend. The event promises to be jam-packed with ways to boost your horsemanship and stay inspired to reach your goals.

Although Clinton and his Professional Clinicians work with Clinton’s performance horses throughout the weekend to share the partnership and results the Method can help you achieve, they also demonstrate how to start the Method on untrained horses. Using local horses, and even horses with problem behavior, to educate the audience is important to Clinton because when he was a young boy learning horsemanship, he was often discouraged by trainers who taught lessons using trained horses.

“I really started to get frustrated with those trainers because while the horses they worked with performed each exercise like a pro, my horse was the complete opposite. I’d try to back him up, and he’d lunge toward me with his teeth bared. I’d flip through the book or review the video trying to find the answer to ‘What if my horse tries to kill me?’ but was left empty-handed,” Clinton explains. “They had me believing that a horse should respond perfectly to an exercise the first time you attempt it. Nothing could be further from the truth. Horses are just like humans; they don’t learn perfectly.”

For that reason, Clinton is adamant that horses used in training demos throughout the event are horses he and his clinicians have never seen before. That ensures the audience gets to see the good, the bad, the ugly, and of course, the end goal of the training process.

Although the tour’s main focus is on instruction and inspiration, there’s plenty of entertainment and giveaways. By the end of the tour, Clinton will hand out his entire library as well as his most popular training equipment and tools. Our sponsors are a generous bunch as well, always surprising the audience with free product and fun raffles. When it’s all said and done, over $9,000 in prizes and giveaways are handed out throughout the weekend.
